# rota > rota is a dev workflow for Claude Code and Codex, with OpenCode as a round worker: skills plus a single-binary CLI. Capture an item, build it, ship it; for several issues at once, an orchestrator hands them to worker agents and a gate checks every merge. To install rota in a project, follow the agent-readable install steps and ask the user before each command. - [install.md](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/l4ci/rota/main/install.md): ordered install steps for a coding agent: binary, skills, doctor, project setup ## Start here - [Install](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/install/): Homebrew, the install script, release binaries, the Claude Code plugin, upgrading, uninstalling - [Getting started](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/getting-started/): install and run your first capture, work, ship cycle - [How it works](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/how-it-works/): the two ways to use rota, and how each skill connects to the artifacts it touches - [Where coding agents go wrong](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/agent-mistakes/): common mistakes, enforced checks, written rules and remaining gaps ## Skills - [All skills](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/skills/): when to use each `/rota-*` skill, and how they chain - [Capturing work](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/capturing-work/): `/rota-capture`, mixed input, related links, detail files - [Running work](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/running-work/): `/rota-work` cycles, branch or worktree isolation - [Review and ship](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/review-and-ship/): `/rota-review` and `/rota-ship` gates - [Debugging](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/debugging/): the `/rota-debug` cycle - [Vision and plans](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/vision-and-plans/): `/rota-vision`, `/rota-plan`, milestones - [Skills in Codex](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/codex-skills/): install and call the skills from Codex ## Parallel rounds - [Your first round](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/first-round/): launching the orchestrator, a first round and wind-down, step by step - [Parallel rounds](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/parallel-rounds/): an orchestrator, standing workers in worktrees, the merge gate, solo mode - [Unattended rounds](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/unattended-rounds/): hooks, statusline, keepalive, usage limits - [Doctor and reap](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/doctor-and-reap/): check the machine before a round, clear leftovers after - [Codex workers](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/codex-workers/): run Codex as a worker in a round - [OpenCode workers](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/opencode-workers/): run OpenCode, and any model it can reach, as a worker ## Reference - [Configuration](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/configuration/): every key in `.rota/config.json` and what it does - [Configuration options](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/reference/config-options/): every config key and option label - [`rota` verb reference](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/reference/cli-helpers/): every `rota` verb, with conventions and exit codes - [The `.rota/` folder](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/reference/rota-folder/): files and directories created by `rota init` - [Architecture](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/reference/architecture/): how the CLI, the skills and `.rota/` fit together - [Issue backend](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/usage/issue-backend/): backlog on GitHub or GitLab issues ## Optional - [How rota compares](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/compare/): one page per tool, with the version checked - [FAQ](https://volkerotto.net/rota/docs/faq/): common questions - [Source](https://github.com/l4ci/rota): the repository
