Notes and Links for April 2014

Today is more links then notes. But still worth it!

Links to various interesting / creative / new stuff on the web I came across this month.

  • Comic Neue - comicneue.com
We all love know Comic Sans, right? Craig Rozynski transformed the weird glyphs of Comic Sans into a nicer shape while maintaining the honesty that made Comic Sans so popular.

  • Susy - susy.oddbird.net
If you are using a grid system - and you probably are - you should take a look on Susy. It's super easy to implement and powerful without destroying your beautiful markup with tons of col-12-of-3/4 classes.

  • Grunt-Spritesmith - github.com/Ensighten/grunt-spritesmith
Grunt task for converting a set of images into a spritesheet and corresponding CSS variables.

  • Contrast-Finder - contrast-finder.tanaguru.com
Tanaguru Contrast-Finder finds correct color contrasts for web accessibility. WCAG Success criteria 1.4.3 requires text to have a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 (and 3:1 for large text).

  • Chicks & Types - chicksandtypes.com
A love story by Simone Massoni about illustration and typography.

As always I hope you might find some of them useful. The cover image is one of my Instagram shots from this month.
